Boiling Water/Lava Pit

This week’s sound effect is an attempt at creating some lava boiling.  I didn’t start out with a thought of trying to make lava and finding a way to do it, but rather, heard some water boiling for some dinner that my roommate was cooking, and thought I could manipulate it.  All I really did was throw the raw recording in a session, copied it to a new track, pitch shifted one of the tracks down 24 semitones, then time shifted both tracks down 50%.  I feel as though this gave me a wide range of frequencies, but thickened it up by adding as much of the low frequencies as I wanted.  By having the two tracks, with one pitch shifted way down, I had more control than just adding an equalizer alone.
